What a relief!!!!!…….finally a 300 km trip with no discomfort whatsoever.
Even a BMW seat (R1150RS) couldn’t do the trick until we both got our Airhawk seats.
We are now looking forward to a long weekends riding, approx. 1000 km’s, to give them a real testing but we know they will do fine, and the best thing is my wife is super comfortable on her Airhawk pillion pad.
I dont know why I didn’t get them years ago.
Ever since I got my airhawk, I’ve had nothing but comfort. Having broken a few bones in my back, including my tail bone, (thankfully none from riding), I use to get a lot of pain when on a long ride. Now I have no issue at all. My last trip was a quick weekend ride to Adelaide (from Melbourne) and it was nothing but comfort, apart from the soaring heat.
In a couple of months, I head up to Cairns, and need to do at least 1,000km a day to get there in time for an event. I know there will be no issues with my comfort getting there. The AirHawk even makes a good pillow at night when I am camping.
Hi I am a female rider, I own a Virago 1100, 1986 , love the ride, but going from Toowoomba to Townsvile for a meet I ended up with tailbone issues, the only problem I had the whole ride.
Was wondering if the airhawke seat was suitable for this bike, as someone told me otherwise, due to the dip in the seat.
Other people who have them on their bikes (differnt makes and models) say they are great
So was just wondering if anyone had,and was useing one on a similar bike. Would love to hear back,
Reagads Rani..,
Hi Rani,
You need the Medium Cruiser. It will prevent your tail bone from rubbing or bumping on anything and make you more comfortable by absorbing vibration.
Cheers,
Tom.
G’Day Tom,
My poor old ass is crying out for assistance.
The pillion in a million also wants some help.
What size “Airhawk’s” (Rider and Pillion) would I need to fit a Corbin Dual Canyon saddle on our ST1100?
And does the “Airhawk” shorten the legs very much?
Regards
Bob Noonan
Toora, Victoria.
Hi Bob,
You need the Medium Cruiser and the Large Pillion for your seat. Airhawk cushions are designed to mould themselves to your individual shape and they achieve that with a small amount of air, the result is that they will raise your seat height by around 1/4″ or 6mm.
Kind Regards,
Tom.
Gday all,
I just rang Tom and told him of my recent time on my Airhawk. I did a 900KM ride from Sydney to Wagga and back in 1 day with no pain, discomfort, numb bum, or any of the usual seat related aches and pains.
Without the Airhawk, I doubt I would have even got to Wagga without an overnight stop on the stock seat of my Kawasaki ER6F.
So, thanks Tom and thanks Airhawk.
2 part video of the trip can be viewed at http://www.livevideo.com/brotherblonde (scroll down to see “There and back again. Apologies to Bilbo Baggins
”
Thanks again,
Andrew.
G’Day Tom,
After a test ride last Saturday on a Moto Guzzi Californian, only a half hour ride was enough to make me wonder if I was looking at the right style of bike (tailbone broken twice 18months ago), so I took a Triumph Sprint for a ride which was much better for the tail bone but I think the wallet would be severely impaired by the constabulary so I went back to the Californian with a borrowed Airhawk and the difference was incredible, the unusual feeling as the air moves between the cells to balance the load on the seat was a little disconcerting at first but after only a short ride I was sold.
So I picked up the Guzzi yesterday and now I need a Airhawk for myself!!!
Regards Graeme
Excelent posts and good comments. I wish good luck from Private Krankenversicherung
early fxrt harleys r almost impossible to get decent seats for, the air hawk is every thing the makers claim it to be, which is rare unuf, turns uny bike into an all day rider and makes a handy pillow at the rallys!
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for sharing your footage. It’s always good to get out of the city, and the Airhawk Comfort seating system is perfect for absorbing vibration and reducing fatigue so you can stay alert and arrive fresher.
G’Day Graeme,
I’m sure you’ll be happy with the Moto Guzzi. The Airhawk Medium Cruiser will fit the Classic or Vintage California. I have customers with all sorts of problems, from fractured tailbones to hip replacements, all benefitting from Airhawk cushions. We now import and stock Airhawk Comfort seating systems for all sorts of seats, office, car, 4wd, truck, loader, grader, plane, helicopter you name it we’ve got it.
Hey Tom
Remember me from Littlehampton SA.
Well we have been home a week now from our almost 3,000km 9 day tour of Victoria, and our Ned Kelly run.
Hubby has had an Airhawk for a couple of years and swears by it but for the trip I bought one for my Honda CB400 and a friend bought one for his TRX… our comments to you!
WOW, and what a lovely bum we have. The TRX rider commented at every stop, his body was stuffed but his butt was beautiful. My seat used to grow teeth after an hour or so, but after 9 days on it I thought I had been in the tintop the whole trip.
How can we ever thank you… the Harley riders looked and listened but would never admit they need one too.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers and safe riding,
Jewlz
Hello there all
Am enquiring about the best possible Airhawk seat to use on my Bonnie T100-had enough of
the pain after 200km. Have just been introduced to these seats and they sound great!
Cheers Happy riding everyone
Hi Tim,
T100 riders use the Small Cruiser. Once adjusted it will only raise your seat height by around 6mm or 1/4″.
Regards,
Tom.
Hi, I’ve been thinking about investing in an airhawk. I have an 02 Triumph Trophy and my Bum isn’t what it used to be!!! what size should I be looking at for me and the missus?
Cheers, Ian
Hi,
I have a Yamaha XJ 900 (1984 model) and was wondering which is the best Air Hawk seat for me, as I w2ant to use the bike for trips to Melbourne from Adelaide. I have just seen your add in Motorcycle Trader and thought I would inquire about one, as they sound great.
Cheers, and safe riding
Goodaye Tom,
Would like to know what size rider and pillion you would suggest for a 2007 Suzuki Boulevarde - my new Xmas present from my husband (sure). Have heard great things about your bum pillow, can’t wait to try it out.
Thanks in advance
Kylie
gday tom

Hi,
I am about to embark on a 15 day 8000km ride I have a 87 k100rt bmw with a split seat system, was wondering what would be the best size airhawk for me. Have heard heaps of good things about this product.
Cheers
Damo
Hi Damo,
You need the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. Once adjusted the Airhawk will only raise your seat height by about 6-7mm or 1/4″.
Regards,
Tom.
Going to the Snowies early May on a Suzuki 650 Burgman scoot. Feel I might need an AirHawk. Can you advise the size I would need pls. I weigh 105kg. Thanks for your help.
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
Burgman riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. Once adjusted the Airhawk will only raise your seat height by around 6-7mm. It’s designed to moud itself to your individual shape, so you actually sit “in it” rather than on it.
According to the manufacturer, there is no weight limit on these cushions, and we’ve proven that many times with guys up to and over 150kgs using Polyvynil Medium Cruisers without problems. In fact, I regularly use a Polyvynil Small Pillion cushion sideways on one of the bikes here and I weigh 95kgs!
I hope this helps. Have a great time and safe riding.
Airhawk Guy.
Hi Tom
Thanks for your quick advice, order placed tonight.
Regards
Thomas
G’day,
I’m 120kg and to fit a Kawasaki VN900 Classic, stock seat. I believe the MEDIUM will be fine. Just found out about AIRHAWK. Needed for a road trip next weekend. Will it arrive in under a week or is it possible to get it before next weekend as soon as it is ordered?
Thanks in advance
Bigstep !
Hi Bigstep,
You’re correct, VN riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. We have guys up to 150kgs riding on these Airhawks without any problems so you needn’t be concerned about weight. Your order should be delivered within a couple of days, via Express Post, (depending on where you live). Once adjusted you’ll find it will only raise your seat height by around 1/4″ or 6-7mm.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Thanks for the quick response. Likewise, ordered one tonight. Looking forward to trying it out. (hopefully for next weekend
Many Thanks

Hi There
I have a KTM 690 and was wondering what size I need to suit both the rider and pillion? We use a lambs wool cover so wanted to slip it/them under the cover.
Thanks
Danny
Hi Danny,
The Small Pillion is the Airhawk KTM690 riders and pillions use.
A big percentage of our customers have lambs wool on their bikes before contacting us. Lambs wool becomes compressed with regular use and pretty much loses it’s comfort value after that. You don’t notice this as much when using lambs wool in a car, because you have the car seat suspension to rely on, but on a bike seat it’s a different matter.
Airhawk Comfort Seating Systems are designed to mould to your individual shape and you determine the appropriate air pressure by feel. After adjusting your Airhawks I suggest you go for a ride sitting directly on top of them, then put the lambs wool over the cushions for the return trip home. That way you can decide if there is any benefit in keeping the lambs wool.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Have an 06 Softail Standard and have had the Airhawk for 2 years. Touch my Airhawk and your in deep ..it. Great thingy.
hi, i was wondering if you can use a lambs wool over the airhawk?
Hi Shelly,
One of Airhawk’s great features are ventilated sidewalls which allow air to circulate through the cushion, keeping you cooller and drier (by reducing perspiration). Airhawks are designed to mould themselves to your individual shape, putting anything thick or stiff between you and your Airhawk can reduce your cushion’s performance.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Ive got a 2003 vrod w/sundowner seat, just went to sturgis and back,2200miles round trip. I am sore, dont need cushion for pillion, what do you suggest? Seat is 12 in long,14in across
Hi Richard,
You should drop by your local Airhawk dealer and ask if you can sit a Medium Cruiser (14″x14″) on your seat to see how it looks. If you do not like the slight overhang at the front of the seat don’t give up.
Ask him for a Small Pillion and place it sideways across the area where you are going to sit (the back of the front seat). We do this with a lot of sport bike seats when the Medium Cruiser doesn’t quite fit. I use one like this on a hotrod superglide and it works a treat.
(Remember, when using a Small Pillion sideways, you should place the Airhawk logo toward the back of the bike, this will put the valve at the back right hand corner of the cushion, out of the way when you are sitting on it.)
Either way you’re going to get more miles and more smiles on an Airhawk!
Let me know how it turns out, I’m always looking for feedback.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hello there,
Do you have a model for a Suzuki DRZ 400 Supermotard? Aiming to do some adventure touring on it and the motocross style seat is less than perfectly suited to the activity. Also, does the Airhawk add much to seat height?
Thanks,
Kate
Hello Kate,
Thank you for your question. I’m afraid the short answer is no, we do not have an Airhawk narrow enough for a competition style seat like the DRZ’s.
The Smallest Airhawk we have is a rectangular shape measuring 28cm x 23cm and it would hang or drop over the sides of your seat. Airhawks are designed to mould themselves to your individual shape and you are intended to immerse yourself into the cushion. To achieve this the cushion needs to be placed on a seat wide enough to support it.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hi,
I have an 02 ducati 620 ie S monster i was just wondering what Airhawk ud recommend for this bike thanks
Hi Craig,
620 Monster riders use the Small Pillion sideways across the back of their seat. Once adjusted it will only raise your seat height by around 6-8mm.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hi,
I have a 2000 Africa Twin and would like to know which model is right for me, as a driver, and my wife as a passenger.
Many thanks!
Nicola
Hi Nicola,
You need the Small Cruiser and your wife needs the Small Pillion. Your wife can place her Airhawk sideways across the seat for best results. Remember to have the Airhawk logo on the Small Pillion facing towards the tail light, this will locate the valve at the rear right hand corner so it will be out of the way when the cushion is being used.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hiya’s, I’m not a young feller, nor is my wife, and we are kinda new to motorcycles. Doubt we would ever want to go beyond 200 mile trips by motorcyle no matter what kind of motorcycle it is. I currently own 2 older motorcycles that we enjoy on the small trips we go on(30-100 miles), but our fannies don’t care to do them much more unless they get some kind of relief. I have just found out about seat cushions on the internet and from what I’ve seen, the Airhawks appear to be the way to go. I just don’t know which model (size) to get for the MC’s we have. Both are about the same size seats though. One is an 1982 Yamaha XJ 650 maxim, and the other is a 1986 Honda VT 500C Shadow (sport cruisers I think?). Also, need to make sure my wife sitting behind me has her part of these seats covered with a cushion as well. Could you please help me to make the right decision on which Airhawk seat cover sizes I need for these MC’s. Thank you
Hi Eric,
You need the Medium Cruiser for yourself on the front seat and a Small Pillion for your Significant Other on the back. Yes you can transfer these Airhawks from one bike to the other. Don’t be surprised if you want to ride longer once you get your cushions!
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hi Tom,
My brother and I toured across the top of Oz from Brisbane to Perth via Cape York Peninsula and the Gulf of Carpenteria (11000kms). Thanks to the AirHawk it was an awesome trip. Some days we did up to 600kms on bone rattling dirt and did not get sore butts at all. Thank you also for the prompt sevice, I rang you and 2 days later they were on the doorstep.
Mark and Paul Davis BMW650 and Vstrom650
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your email. I’m pleased you were able to enjoy the ride. The Airkhaws really do absorb a lot of shock and vibration when put to the test. I’ve been up there a few times and know what it’s like. The Savannah Way has sections of dirt or rough and bumpy one lane bitumen that can rattle you teeth loose! And when you see those road trains coming boy you need to get off the road fast because they don’t (can’t) move a millimetre! How about Saturday night at the Purple Pub in Normanton and the fishing at Karumba!
Regards,
Airhawk guy.
G’day
I have a R1200GS (2006) with the low seat option. It is a great ride, but after about 100k’s…
I’ve had many recommendations for your product and was wondering what size AirHawk would suit and will the height alter much?
Regards,
Tony
Hi Tony,
GS riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. Once adjusted it will only raise your seat height by around 6-8mm. It is designed to mould to your individual shap and will absorb a lot of vibration - vibration causes fatigue as you know. It will also absorb some shock to reduce jarring from rough roads and unexpected pot holes etc.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hi Tom,
I have a Suzuki DR650SE and was wondering if you had a airhawk to suit.
Cheers,
Aidan
Hi Aidan,
Yes we have an Airhawk for you. DR650SE riders use the Small Pillion @ $159.00 inc. free Express Post. Your seat is just wide enough to support the cushion and provide you with some comfort. Now, if you had a DRZ it would be a different story…they have a competition style seat which is so narrow the cushion would bend over the sides and not function properly. Once adjusted your Airhawk will only raise your seat height by around 6-8m.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
Hi,
I just purchased a Goldwing GL 1800. The seat is very cushy but I live in the south and after an hour or so, my butt and “other” areas are itchy and wet. I noticed your seat has spaces between the cells for air flow but there is still a significant amount of area that will be in contact with the body that will not allow air to flow. How does your seat help to cool those sections?
My second question is the height in addition to the OEM seat. My current height is perfect, how much will adding your seat raise the stock seat height?
Warner,
The Airhawk Comfort Seating System can help to reduce the feeling of heat buildup caused by poor circulation. Also, in a situation where the motorcycle has a fairing which will deflect airflow away from the rider, the Airhawk will slightly raise you to maximize the cooling effect of any wind you may get. Once adjusted it will only raise your seat height by around 1/4″ or 6-8mm.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
G’day
I have recently purchased a new Triumph Thunderbird and I can see some backside issues coming on long runs. Can you suggest the best option for the riders seat.
Cheers
Rob
Hi Robert,
You need the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. If you’ve been getting a hot seat or feeling numb or sore the Airhawk is the answer. It comes with a 60 day money back guarantee so you can’t go wrong! Put one to the test and let me know what you think.
Regards,
Airhawk Guy.
I ride a Yamaha T-Max. Suffered for years with sore back and bum after anything more than an hour in the saddle, at age 64 thought it would always be like that, even though the T-Max is pretty comfortable as bikes go… then I got an Airhawk cushion, and I can hardly believe the difference!
Just finished a ride to from Albury to Darwin and back. (Yes, on the T-Max) - would not have attempted it without the Airhawk. Best bike accessory ever! Whole days on the bike and no soreness anywhere.
What service ordered Monday arrived Tuesday will get back to you on their perfomance of to the HOG rally in Tamania in Nov.
Hi AirHawke Guy,
I am planning to do an 7000 km trip this Christmas season. I have an 08 1200 custom sportster. Being quite short, is it possible to get the airhawk cushon custom fitted into the seat by a motor trimmer? Would it effect it’s performance?
Cheers
Paul
Hey Paul,
It sounds like you have a great ride planned! The Airhawk Comfort Seating System is designed to mould itself to your individual shape and does this with a minimum of air, the result is that it will only raise your seat height by around 6-8mm. As you change position on the cushion the air will move around from air cell to air cell to adjust to your new shape or position. When you put your foot on the ground (like at a stop light) there should not be much (if any) air left between your leg and the seat so the Airhawk should not affect your ability to touch the ground.
Anything between you and your Airhawk (like sheep skin or a tight or firm seat cover) can affect the performance of the cushion to some degree, one of the reasons the Airhawk cover has a soft top. It also has perforated side walls to allow air to circulate under and around you, to reduce heat build-up.
Why don’t you try the Airhawk on top of the seat to see if you can reach the ground comfortably first? And how about telling us about the fun you had on your ride when you get back? Since I can’t go with you I’d love to hear about it.
Regards,
AHG.
Hi, as a “mature aged” lady rider newish to the Biker world, I have a Yamaha Virago 250, After 692kms today I have the sorest of butts. Lower tailbone area. Ok, what would you suggest would suit my bike to rid me of soreButtitis after even a short (50km)ride?
Dear Virago Vixen,
To alleviate “Sore Buttitis” on a 250 Virago I would prescribe the Medium Cruiser (@ $179.00 inc. free Express Post). Once adjusted it will only raise your seat height by around 6-8mm and will deliver more miles and more smiles.
Regards,
AHG.
Hi AirHawk Guy,
After looking around for some tea towels and some plants for my wife on our aniversary i thought i’d done well. She bought me a V*1100 “couldn’t believe my eyes”, so the least i can do is get her a better seat to rest that wonderful arse of hers on. I just ordered the medium cruiser and small pillion to go on the yamaha, i hope that’s the right size, and i look forward to letting you know the results after our Nov-Dec holiday along the Great Ocean Road.
Cheers
Maniac
Hi Maniac,
Congratulations on your anniversary and your new bike! Yes the Medium Cruiser and the Small Pillon are the correct choices for your new Yamaha 1100. By the time you get them adjusted they should only raise your seat height by around 6-8mm.
Watch out for sightseers in cars along the GOR. They often take their eyes off the raod and rear vision mirror and can slow down unexpectedly.
Regards,
AHG.
Hi there AHG
I’ve got a ‘93 FLSTN, having had my tail bone remove a couple of years ago, I’m finding riding my old faithful a real pain in the arse to ride, in fact any bike. having just done a 2000k trip last week while on holidays. I found that I was sitting side saddle for most of the way.
Will the Airhawk cushion over come this nagging pain?? And make riding my old girl pleasurable again?
Cheers
Romelio
Hi Romelio,
Thank you for your email. Yes the Airhawk Comfort Seating System can help you put some pain free kms on your Softail Nostalgia. The Airhawk redistributes your weight away from your pressure points which is just what you need and it will also absorb some shock and vibration!
Nostalgia riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. Once ajusted it will only raise your seat height by around 1/4″ or 6-8mm.
Regards,
AHG.
Hi,
I’ve just bought a Suzuki SFV Gladius 650 and the seat is rock hard and quite shaped. Would the AH fit it all?
Thanks
Hello Andy,
Yes we have a Comfort Seating System for you. 650 Suzuki Gladius riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post.

Airhawk Guy.

Hi Tom,
Have been using our airhawk seats on our new Burgman 650 scooter, very pleased with
the comfort they have provided. Thank you very much for a very prompt delivery service.
Cheers Ross and Viv Kennedy.
Hi Ross and Viv,
Thank you for your email, I’m pleased to hear you are now more comfortable on your Burgman. We ship by Express Post the same day we receive the order (in regular business hours) so our customers can expect fast delivery and a better riding experience.

Hello Mate,
Im riding my Kawasaki GPz900 across the Nullabor in February next year what size airhawk would I need for the trip?
Cheers,
Nathan.
Hi Nathan,
I’d run the Small Pillion sideways across the GPZ seat, the Small Cruiser is too long and the Medium Cruiser is too wide. The Small Pillion is quite a versatile cushion, fitting a lot of rider’s seats on sport bikes and wider pillion seats. I use one sideways on one of the bikes here and it does a great job.
Just remember to face the Airhawk logo toward the tail light, that way the valve will be at the back right hand corner of the cushion, out of the way when you are sitting on it. Airhawk cushions do not move around when you use them and I find I don’t need to tie them on unless I’m trail riding and might need to stand up when I ride. If you want to tie the Small Pillion on run the attachment straps diagonally under the seat and don’t make them too tight, they are only intended to prevent the cushion freom blowing off.
If you happen to be attending the Ulysses AGM in Albany be sure to come and say hi, we’ll be there.
Regards,
AHG.
Hi AirHawk Guy
Just thought I’d drop you a line and let you know how the G.O.R. was last week. After fitting your seat which i might add showed up next business day, top stuff. I was initially unsure of how much difference it was making with short trips out the road. But I hit the highway to complete the 750km round trip (in two days) Avoca - GOR - Geelong - Avoca.
The Meduim Cruiser seat was bloody brilliant, at rest stops i wanted to sit on the bike not the coffee tables, it makes a huge difference when doing long distances, and i had no lower back or leg pain from long days with feet forward riding on the V-star 1100. My wife didn’t do the trip, but we did a 100km country road trek on the weekend and she loves the small pillion, she reckons that the bumps on our crappy roads seem to disappear using the AirHawk.
Thanks and all the best.
Mr & Mrs Maniac
Hey Josh,
Thanks for the feeback, glad to hear you are now riding in comfort. If you get tired of the GOR there are some great roads to ride inland too.
From Colac south through Forest and Mount Sabine you head west to Lavers Hill and Aire Valley, or continue south to Skenes Creek, Apollo Bay and through the Otway National Park and Glenaire to Chapple Vale and north east to Colac via Carlisle River.
Regards,
AHG.
hi i have a dl 1000 v strom could you please email me about the right size for my bike thanks im 6 foot 3 and 115 kgs
Hi MIchael,
V-Strom riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. Once adjusted it will only increase the seat height by around 6-8mm. Your weight isn’t really a factor, we have guys up to and over 150kgs using the same cushion witout problems.
Safe Riding,
Airhawk Guy.
howdy.I have a ktm duke 690 is it the small pillion i require for me the rider ?,
cheers dean
Hi Dean,
Yes you are correct, the Small Pillion is the best fit for your seat. It costs $159.00 inc. free Express Post.
Regards,
AHG.
G’day,
Just wondering what size AirHawk you’d recommend for a H-D 1200 Sportster Custom with Stock seat.
Additonally, what is the difference between the Neoprene and the Polyvinyl? Rider comfort, Breathability, Wear?
Cheers
Tim
Hey Tim,
Thank you for your email and your question. What we’re talking about here is the material the bladders are made from.
The old style neoprene is a thicker, more expensive material which is also more expensive to produce. The newer style material is a light weight industrial polyvinyl, it’s just as comfortable as the older style and lighter and easier to handle. There are no weight limits on these cushions, we have guys up to 150kg using them without problems.
After 51/2 years using rubber neoprene (because that’s all there was) I swapped over to the polyvinyl when they sent me some samples - and I’m still using the same ployvinyl Medium Cruiser now, over 4 years later. Breathability is the same. 1200 Sporty Custom riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post (within Australia).
Regards,
AHG.
So I have an incredibly bony butt due to a pointy lower pelvis. When I sit on a hard chair, for instance, only a layer of skin rests between the pointy part of my pelvis and the surface of the chair. On a motorcycle seat, my pointed pelvis literally leaves two dents in the cushion of a seat. These are the pressure points I’m trying to remedy. Custom seats have not done the trick so I’m thinking of getting an airhawk. Here’s my concern: I own an bmw r1200gs adventure. The high seat already leaves me on my tippy toes and I’m afraid that the airhawk will raise me up even higher and compromise my safety. And ideas?
Also, I’m trying to figure out which seat would best fit my seat. The dimensions of my seat are: 9″ wide at the back of seat narrowing to 7″ in the middle of the seat and 15″ long. Dimension wise the Small Pillion cushion seems to be my best bet but it’s advertised as a passenger seat. The Small Cruiser is too long and too wide.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your email. Do you have the lowered BMW seat, if not get one. If you can only touch the ground tippy toed you could find yourself off balance, usually when you least expect it, and the bike can easily fall over. You’ll not only do some damage to your bike but you could also get caught underneath it.
The Airhawk is designed to mould to your individual shape and does so with a minimum opf air. The result is that it should only raise your seat height by around 1/4″ or 6-8mm.
R1200GS riders usually use the Medium Cruiser on their bikes. The Small Pillion is a very versatile cushion and is used sideways on a lot of sport bikes and others where the seat is too short or too narrow for any other Airhawk. I’m 97kg and I use the Small Pillion ployvinyl sideways across the back of the rider’s seat on one of the bikes here and it works well.
Regards,
AHG.
could u please tell me the correct size airhawk for a 1985 bmw k100rt regards Laurie
Hi Laurie,
1985 K100RT riders use the Medium Cruiser @ $179.00 inc. free Express Post. The Airhawk will help improve circulation, reduce numbing and soreness and absorb shock and vibration.
Regards,
AHG.
So I’m a little confused still about what seat would be best for my 2009 R1200GS Adventure. Is it ideal for the Airhawk to fold over the sides of the stock seat somewhat? The medium cruiser would do that given that it is 14″ x 14″ while my bike’s seat is 9″ wide (narrowing to 7″) by 15″ long. I originally thought the small pillion seat would be best because it WOULDN’T fold over the edge of my seat (except where the width narrows to 7″). Now I’m back to wondering which Airhawk would be best. What do you think?
Hi Tom
I’m looking for Airhawks for my 05 BMW K1200s and my son’s 00 Triumph 900 Triple. What are the most suitable?
thanks
john
Hi John,
I’d use the Small Pillion sideways on each of these bikes. Everything else is too long or too wide for your seats.

I sent a reply on Saturday but it doesn’t look like it was delivered so I”l try again. The contouring parts of your seat generally provide some degree of support and should therefore be considered part of your seating area.
While the Medium Cruiser may have a little overhang I belive it will provide more comfort due to it’s larger contact area.
The Small Pillion (sideways) will also provide you with improved comfort without the overhang issue. I don’t know if you have the lowered BMW seat or how tall you are. Unless you are particularly tall, the last thing a rider needs is anything getting between their leg and the seat (pushing their knees apart) as it will make it more difficult to reach the ground.
If you do not have the BMW lowered seat get one.

AHG.
Gday again Tom.
Once again, sincere thanks to you and your product. The Airhawk seat got me and my cameras comfortably to Armidale and back to film the “Where On Google Earth Am I?” DVD.
I really doubt I could have done it as easily as I did without the seat.
Also, I’ll be telling my collegues at work about the Airline seat!
Cheers

hi i have a 09 dyna fat bob and want to know if your product and which one would be suitable for my pillion
thanks
michael
Hi Michael,
Yes we have an Airhawk to do the job. Fatbob pillion passengers use the Small Pillion Airhawk cushion. It’s designed to sit “in” rather than “on” so after you have inflated it you sit on it and slowly release the air until you immerse yourself into the cushion, once it’s adjusted it will only raise the seat height by around 6-8mm.
Happy Riding,
AIRHAWKGUY.
Hi AHG,
I finally purchased your medium cruiser cushion for my BMW1200GS to go to the World Superbikes at Phillip Island, from which I’ve just returned. I’d done the long trip from NSW many times and wasn’t looking forward to the sore bum and numb legs again. What a difference! It took a little while to adjust and sort out the correct inflation, but it was very worthwhile. As many others have said, I wished I done it years ago. Thanks for the prompt delivery (3 days) and helpful website. I’m sure you’ll be getting referals from me as I can’t stop raving about it. Well done. Cheers.
Muzz
Hey Muzz,
Glad you hear you can now ride in comfort. We ship by Express Post the same day we receive the order (within business hours) so delivery should be fast - depending on the delivery address.
* Muzz, one thing I hear a lot, if you lend your Airhawk to your mate to try it out, you may have to chase him all day to get it back! Safe riding.
Regards,
AHG.
